This week I am reviewing, Midnight Tiger, “The night has a new protector” is the tagline for an awesome comic book that I had the pleasure of discovering recently at a convention. The artist, Ray-Anthony Height sat at the table next to ours. I found my self constantly drawn to the artwork and then decided to get a copy for myself and I have to say that I’m glad that I did. Midnight Tiger, written by Dewayne Feenstra and Ray-Anthony Height, is an action-packed story of a teenager named Gavin Shaw who mysteriously gains super human abilities. He uses his newfound powers to fight crime at night although he has to learn his strengths and limitations all while making sure he gets his homework done. This comic book is very much in the spirit of Spider-man with a dose of Black Panther. There are other super-powered humans in the world and the first issue sets up a possible future confrontation between Midnight Tiger and someone known as “P. Stone.” There is also plenty of room for character development between dealing with his peers and his father on the side. I’m looking forward to see where this story is headed. It’s definitely got my vote for something that you should check out if you get the chance.
