Comic Book Review: Eye of the Gods

EyeoftheGods
Okay, lets get straight to the point. If you enjoy conspiracy-thriller stories along with fantastic artwork, then you should get acquainted with the name: Gerimi Burleigh. He is a creator that I have had the pleasure of knowing through the show-circuit for a few years now. One of the coolest creations he has put together is the graphic novel: Eye of the Gods. I don’t think I could describe its style any better than he has. “It combines the high-tension paranoia of ENEMY OF THE STATE with the foreboding chill of THE DEAD ZONE.

” I wholeheartedly agree with this since I read the entire story in one sitting. I actually couldn’t put it down. The story is a about a man named Sean Black who takes part in the newest hi-tech surgery that involves cloning eyes to improve sight. Not log after this, Sean begins having visions. The first is of a murder, which sets the course of events for Sean as he uncovers something that will change his life and those around him. My favorite parts of the story are the “visions.” The way that Gerimi crafted them through his mix of art and storytelling kept me compelled to keep reading all the way to the end. I may be a little biased because I know him and this isn’t the first time I’ve reviewed one of his books, however, I’m also a fan. I also know a good story when I read one and this is definitely a book worth checking out.
